Applying for grants may not be easy, but it also doesn't have to be so hard...
If we're being honest (and that is what we do at Miller and Micek), the process of applying for grants often strikes people as a bit of a nightmare. Understanding the application, completing all of the necessary paperwork, registering and setting up your entity in the correct systems... there seem to be no end to the hurdles that you may have to jump through. And more often than not that means that the money goes to only those entities which can devote a full-time staff person to doing this kind of work leaving many worthy agencies or initiatives behind...
But it doesn't have to work that way nor should it. Our team has extensive experience with drafting, submitting, and implementing grant projects ranging from small research grants to million-dollar projects funded by the federal government. We've done it all in terms of those cumbersome steps as well: from setting up system accounts and registrations to creating grant narratives and budgets to submitting the financial and performance reports required for federal-level grants.
