EBPs: Lots of research and support, not so easy to put into action...
If you've looked over our website much, you'll have seen we refer a lot to evidence-based practices, or EBPs. EBPs are not only on many of our pages, they're truly everywhere it seems--in fields including corrections, counseling, education, medicine, and many more. EBPs at their core are simply those practices which research has shown to have effective outcomes: case management for individuals on community supervision, cognitive-behavioral therapies and techniques, teaching tools for different types of learners, and so much beyond these. Whatever the practice, the point with EBPs is that they are considered something of a gold standard in that scientific research demonstrates they work. Knowing about these practices however is quite different from trying to put those practices into action in your agency or organization though... and our team knows that firsthand.
